He was adopted on 19 February 1877 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts. Daniel died on 4 March 1936 at the age of 67 in Newton, Middlesex, Massachusetts. He was buried at Forest Hills Cemetery in Dorchester, Suffolk, Massachusetts.

Daniel W. Brintnall and Mabelle J. Waugh were married on 26 May 1892 in Cambridge, Middlesex, Massachusetts. Mabelle J. Waugh, daughter of John H. Waugh and Jennie R. , was born on 11 April 1870 in Hingham, Plymouth, Massachusetts. She died on 22 April 1924 at the age of 54 in Jacksonville, Duval, Florida. She was buried at Forest Hills Cemetery in Dorchester, Suffolk, Massachusetts.
