Sylvanus Cobb Rose, son of Simeon Rose and Lydia Stafford, was born on 22 January 1832 in Greene, Androscoggin, Maine. He died from consumption on 22 February 1880 at the age of 48 in Abington, Plymouth, Massachusetts.
